Policies & FAQ
Deposit & Balance
A 50% deposit confirms your spot, paid via Wise after acceptance. The remaining 50% is due 60 days before departure. Spots are not considered confirmed until the deposit is received.
Cancellations by the Participant
60+ days before departure: deposit is non-refundable, balance (if paid) refunded in full.
30–59 days before departure: 50% of total amount paid.
Less than 30 days before departure: non-refundable.
A one-time transfer to another qualified applicant is possible with at least 30 days' notice, subject to approval. No refunds for late arrival, early departure, or voluntary non-participation once the experience has begun.
Cancellations or Changes by MTE
If MTE cancels the edition, all payments are refunded in full or credited toward a future edition. MTE reserves the right to modify the route, schedule, or accommodations due to weather or trail conditions; such adjustments do not constitute grounds for a refund.
Travel Insurance
Not included, and the participant's responsibility. Given the remote terrain and altitude (up to 4,000 masl), we strongly recommend a policy covering trip cancellation, medical evacuation, and high-altitude activity. MTE is not liable for costs arising from flight cancellations, illness, or injury.
Force Majeure
Neither party is liable for delay or failure to perform due to events beyond reasonable control. In such cases, MTE will offer a credit toward a future edition where possible; cash refunds are not guaranteed for force majeure cancellations.
Terms & Conditions
Participants must be 18 or older. MTE reserves the right to decline any application at its discretion. This is a physically demanding, high-altitude, multi-day trail experience — participants confirm they are in adequate physical condition and disclose relevant medical conditions during the application process.
Trail running in remote, high-altitude terrain carries inherent risk. By confirming a spot, participants acknowledge and accept this risk. MTE and its partners may document the experience through photo and video for future MTE content; participants may opt out by notifying MTE in writing before the event.
MTE curates small groups for a reason. Respect for local communities, terrain, guides, and fellow participants is a condition of participation.
